OCD and Anxiety Related Disorders Program
The OCD and Anxiety Related Disorders Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a time-limited, intensive treatment program for children, adolescents, and adults who suffer from OCD, social anxiety, panic disorder, hair pulling, skin picking, ticking/Tourette’s Syndrome, body dysmorphic disorder and other related conditions that impair their functioning in everyday life. PHP is a program that is specifically designed to keep patients from requiring an inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. It is also structured to provide care to individuals who need to step down from a psychiatric inpatient stay or if the patient needs to step up from intensive outpatient level of care. Patients who enter this program will attend treatment 5 days a week, Monday through Friday.
The OCD and Anxiety Related Disorders Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) helps children, adolescents, and adults who are suffering from symptoms related to OCD, social anxiety, panic disorder, hair pulling, skin picking, ticking/Tourette’s Syndrome, body dysmorphic disorder and other related conditions. This program is for individuals who need a more intensive treatment that a one or two hour a week outpatient treatment schedule does not provide. This program benefits individuals who do not need a partial hospitalization or inpatient level of care.
The Program Format
Collective Care Clinic provides each individual with a specific care plan while in the OCD and Anxiety Related Disorders Program. We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as the guiding model of treatment that informs all the skills and interventions in the program.
The adult program is dedicated to the use of evidence-based treatments focused specifically on the use of exposure-based therapies and habit reversal. The therapeutic modalities used in the OCD and Anxiety Related Disorders Program include Exposure and Response Prevention (E/RP), Habit Reversal and Stimulus Control (HRT/SC) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Problem-Solving Therapy (PST), Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT), and Behavioral Activation (BA).
The principle format used in the OCD and Anxiety Related Disorders Program is intensive individualized therapy. This structure of treatment is ideally used to promote the teaching of skills to the individuals we serve. This format also provides individuals the opportunity to gain a normalization of their experience. Additionally, the group format provides patients the opportunity to get feedback from their peers. We encourage the involvement of family members in the individual’s treatment during individual meeting times.
